Selections get made on the fly, so the schedule slips. A change order appears — priced after the fact, when you have no leverage. Three months become six. You live in the dust the whole time. And everyone — the contractor, your neighbors, the internet — tells you this is just how renovations go.

It isn’t. It’s how an industry without a system goes.

Renovations run badly because they’re run loosely — no fixed scope, no locked schedule, no single person accountable from start to finish. New Direction Homes builds custom homes from the ground up. When we started taking on renovations, we refused to run them the loose way the industry does — we run them like builds. We’re building our own software to run the business end to end. Every project lives in Buildertrend, where you watch your schedule, your selections, and a daily photo log of your own home — no calling to ask what happened today. And from your first inquiry to your one-year warranty, every conversation is tracked in our CRM, so nothing slips through the cracks. That stack is what lets a focused team hold a 30–45 day promise on every single job — and keep that promise as we grow.
